Recently, it has been reported that the Nigerian and Napoli football star, Victor Osimhen had tested positive to Covid-19 for the second time.
This recent negative development would be another obstacle for the Nigerian football star to be included in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Cameroon Which would kick off next month.
According to reports from Punch News, the SS Napoli football club declared openly his positive Covid-19 status and revealed it was confirmed that the Player was on his way back to Italy after he exited the Italian territory earlier for Nigeria.
lt can be recalled that the football star had previously been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus last year (2020) after he attended a party without following Covid-19 protection protocols.
Victor Osimhen was seen in Nigeria a few days ago where he celebrated his birthday and Christmas season with his family members.
He had to travel back to Italy to undergo a medical examination to ascertain the extent of his recovery from the facial injury he got in November during a Seria A-game.
Victor Osimhen was previously ruled out for 3 months after he got the Face injury which forced him to undergo facial surgery operations to stabilize him.
So far, the striker is recovering faster than the Italian doctors anticipated as he started his training lately.
As his recovery process was quick and the player also launched a protective facemask which he would use to shield his Face,
Nigerian fans had hopefully expected him to get featured in the Super Eagles squad for AFCON and the recent Covid-19 status would be a bit disappointing.
The Italian doctor, Gianpaolo Tartaro, who is in charge of Osimhen’s treatment made the statement below:
” The player needs more time to heal after the surgery due to the impact of his facial injuries on his callus bones which it’s recovery process is estimated between 60-90 days; however it can be faster if a miracle takes place”.
“If he does not do the CT scan, we will not be able to dissolve the prognosis. Reduced fractures must consolidate and the 2-3 months recovery process is according to health protocols for effective healing”.
On his Covid-19 status, SS Napoli revealed that Victor Osimhen didn’t leave Nigeria as a result of his positive coronavirus status.
