Senior man Kels gives dominate Eagles half-time lead against Pharaohs

A super strike from Kelechi Iheanacho gave Nigeria the lead in their AFCON opener against Pharaohs of Egypt.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria got what their dominate display deserve at the Stade Roumde Adjia on Tuesday.

Nigeria made their intention known from the blast of the whistle by running the show against the 7-time champions.

Simon Moses was the leader of the torment inflicted by Nigeria on Egypt in the attack.

While both Trost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo controlled the defence.

Moses was a constant pain for Pharaohs on the left flank constantly piling pressure on the right back.

On one occasion while twisting and turning he sent Egypt’s first choice right back into the stretchers and out of the game.

Nigeria got the opener after a pass from the defence found Simon Moses who then sent a cross into the box.

Taiwo Awoniyi tried to head ball towards goal but Hegazi intercepted and his clearance found Aribo who teed up Kelechi Iheanacho for the opener.

Nigeria led by Moses Simon were by far the better team in the first half but the Nantes man balls in the final third letting him down.
