Premier League Coach Tests Positive To Covid-19

The Covid-19 infections are currently crippling premier League matches as most players had tested positive to the dreaded disease but recently, one of the Premier League coaches had reportedly been infected with Covid-19.

According to Sky Sports, Steven Gerrard, the Coach to the Premier League Club, Aston Villa wouldn’t be present in the team’s next two matches after he contracted the coronavirus lately.

The Aston Villa Football club made this report earlier and Steven Gerrard wasn’t present as the team faced Chelsea on Sunday which lost 3-1 to the Stamford bridge side.

Reports also revealed that Steven Gerrard wouldn’t be available for the team as they face Leeds United in their next Premier League game.

The previous match between Aston Villa and Burnley which was scheduled for the 18th of December, 2021 got postponed due to the Covid-19 infections and their next Premier League game against Leeds United is still on probability.

Last week, before the positive Covid-19 status of Steven Gerrard, was confirmed, he admitted that the club is on a challenging point as it isn’t just battling with Covid-19 but also with injuries that had reduced the efficiency of the performance of the team in the Premier League tournament.

Several Premier League matches of the Aston Villa team has been cancelled or postponed and the team are dropping points due to their underperformance.

Luckily, apart from Steven Gerrard, no record of another coach being Covid-19 positive had been noted.

Apart from the English side, Aston Villa, Manchester United had suffered setbacks in the  Premier League as their past 4 matches have been postponed due to the Covid-19 infections.

It was of recent that the Old Trafford team ( Manchester United) commenced their training as they prepare to face Newcastle United today.

Earlier, the Premier League board stated that no other Premier League Matches would be postponed and according to them, this decision would help in promoting and maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the Premier League tournament.

Strict Covid-19 protocols had kick-started in the united kingdom following the emergence of the Omicron variant of coronavirus and all Football Clubs had been tasked with promoting these guidelines to reduce the spread of the Covid-19.
