PFAN To Launch “Ex Footballer For NFF President” Campaign January 31

Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), will on January 31 in Lagos launch its “Ex Footballers for NFF President” campaign, preparatory to NFF election in September 2022.

This is according to Thursday’s release signed by Chairman PFAN Task Force/Facilitator Project 2022, Harrison Jalla and made available to this writer.

The move is furtherance of PFAN Task Force’s primary assignment to pave the way for equal and fair representation for the footballers bloc in the NFF Congress and its Executive Board that is currently dominated by States football association chairmen, occasioned by the flawed and skewed NFF 2010 statutes.

“Having made significant progress in this regard the PFAN Task Force has taken a step further to set up its campaign structure in a bid to take over control and command of Nigerian football come September 2022 NFF election. It is in light of the above the campaign tagged ” Ex-Footballer for NFF President” would be launched on the 31st of January 2022 in Lagos”, the report read in parts.

News are rife that NFF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick is gunning for an unprecedented thurd-term in office, and is employing means to achieve the goal, which include alleged floating a parallel players’ body spearheaded by former Nigeria defender, Chikelue Iloenyusi.

In yet another gross abuse of office and total disregard for the NFF Statutes 2010, Pinnick has unilaterally expelled the country’s players union PFAN from the NFF Congress, according to, which on Wednesday reported that NFF didn’t invite PFAN headed by Tijjani Babangida for the aborted NFF Annual General Assembly in Lagos, but instead extended invitation to the parralel players’ union midwifed the football body.

The report also stated that Pinnick has ordered Iloenyosi’s rebel group to draft Babangida, who is now livid with how he was used and dumped by some senior NFF officials.
