The presence of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain might just have caused some discord in the dressing room.

During first four months of Messi’s career, there have been evident squabbles between Messi and fellow strikers Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

After just being brought off and in September, Messi snubbed coach Mauricio Pochettino’s handshake, causing an understandable uproar.

There was also the episode in October, when Neymar and Mbappe, who had previously been inseparable, had a verbal spat during a match against Montpellier.

In exasperation over a lack of passes, Mbappe admitted to calling the Brazilian a “tramp” (clochard in French).
Although there may be no lingering animosity, L’Equipe adds that the two strikers are no longer as close since Messi’s arrival, despite the fact that they used to spend a lot of time together at Barcelona.

The PSG dressing room is said to be split between French speakers like Presnel Kimpembe and Idrissa Gueye and Spanish speakers like Marco Veratti and Julian Draxler and their allies.

Mbappe had originally been a member of the latter group, but has now returned to the former, separating himself from his teammates.
