Leicester City Contact Rangers For Joe Aribo

Leicester City have joined a long list of English Premier League clubs interested in signing Joe Aribo, a midfielder for the Super Eagles and Glasgow Rangers.

Aribo has been linked with a transfer away from Rangers due to his remarkable form over the last two seasons.

Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Southampton are among the English clubs interested in signing the midfielder.

Under previous manager Steven Gerrard, the 25-year-old was a crucial figure in the Gers’ amazing 2020/21 season, which saw them win the Scottish Premier League without losing a game.

The departure of the Liverpool great has had little impact on the midfielder, who is unquestionably Rangers’ most important player under Giovanni van Bronkhorst, who took over from newly hired Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard.

Brendan Rodgers has approached Rangers, according to Fichajes, as the Leicester Mercury reports, as he explores bringing Aribo to The King Power Stadium when the January transfer window opens.

According to the website, “Leicester City have been linked with a transfer for Rangers attacker Joe Aribo.”
“City is interested in Aribo ahead of the January transfer market reopening.”
City and their Premier League opponents Aston Villa are said to have approached Rangers about a possible deal for the in-form Aribo.”

Five of Rangers’ previous eight Scottish Premiership goals have come from Aribo.

Leicester already have Super Eagles stars Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho in their ranks, giving them an advantage in the race to sign the Rangers star.

Aribo’s contract expires in 18 months, thus he could be a bargain for potential suitors.
