Fresh Crisis! ! ! As Osun PDP Announced A New Acting Chairman

On Friday, December 24, 2021, as the Osun State People’ s Democratic Party (PDP) announced a new acting chairman, there was confusion.

According to sources, the acting chairman Barrister Wale Ojo belongs to the Olasoji Adagunodo faction of the state party.

Barrister Wale Ojo is the former Senate chairman of the PDP representing the Osun East Sentorial District.

The appointment was reached after some stakeholders of the Osun State People’ s Democratic Party approved a resolution.

It was pointed out that Wale Ojo’ s appointment was to fill the vacuum created by Adagunodo’ s withdrawal from the party’ s southwestern vice chairmanship.

Stakeholders from all areas of local government in the state stated that this move is a necessary sequel to the Osun State High Court order, which recognizes and confirms that all actions taken by Adagunodo during his presidency are valid and lawful.

The acting chairman of the new faction stated in his acceptance speech that it is time for party members to work together, as a big family, and promise to ensure that members are on the same page.

He also vowed to use his position to push the party to the edge.

At the same time, Sunday Bisi, the state’ s embattled party chairman, described the actions of some party leaders who approved Ocho as the acting state party chairman as a scam.

Bisi, speaking through the party’ s media director Bamidele Olabamiji, said that his legal team is studying a court decision that invalidated him as the substantive chairman of the Osun State party in order to appeal.

When referring to the referendum approving Wale Ojo as acting chairman, he insisted that Sunday Bisi is still the state’ s party chairman because the organizers of the referendum did not take away all relevant stakeholders.

Orabamiji added that people who label themselves as stakeholders should not be taken seriously.

Sanya Omilin, Akin Ogunbiyi, Alhaji Fatal Akinbade and Dele Adeleke attended the meeting for four candidates competing for the party’ s ticket to the state governor election next year.
