“All funds received will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria “,DMW Davido reveals. The Popular Nigerian singer and owner of record label(DMW) David Adeleke popularly known as Davido on his twitter page made his intentions of giving out all funds he had gotten as gift for his upcoming birthday from friends and fans from all over the country Accordingly, he released a statement dated Friday, 19th November, 2021 showing his intentions of giving out all donations to orphanages across Nigeria. The Fem crooner revealed that all he had received summed up a total of 200million naira. He also added that he will be personally donate a sum of 50million naira summing a total of 250million naira.
“I have always been passionate about giving back and helping people. In view of this I am delighted to announce that all the funds received totalling NGN 200,000,000.00 will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria as well as the Paroche foundation. In addition, I will be making a personal donation of NGN 50,000,000.00, bringing the total amount to 250,000,000.00.” He said, In order for this funds to be dispatched to the beneficiaries, Davido set up a five member disbursement committee to see to the distribution of funds. Members of the committee include; Mrs. Titi Adebayo as chairman of the committee, Professor Jonathan Nwosu as secretary to the committee.
Professor Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigerian Seventh Day Adventist Union Conference, Professor (Dr) Oyalabu of Spring Time Development Foundation (SDF) and professor Uloma Onouha. Davido further stated the obligations of the committee and said that he will do this fundraising every year to celebrate his birthday and give back to people in need. “My goal is to do this fundraising every year to celebrate my birthday and give back to people in need.
It is my hope that my friends, fans, colleagues in the industry and the public will continue to support me as I drive this cause.” He however expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him. “Once again, I express my sincere gratitude to my friends, colleagues, fans and everyone that made this possible.
