COVID-19: Staff of the Office of the SSG of Delta State Gov has been advised to observe safety measures at all time.

According to our source Mr Christian Onwugbolu who disclosed this on his social media handle stated that the Secretary to the Delta State Government(SSG),Mr Chiedu Ebie has charged senior staff of the office to ensure that they observe all the Covid-19 protocols to help in containing the spread of the virus in the work place.

The SSG gave the charge during a sensitization talk organised for senior staff of the SSG’s Office.

He said as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic a new world order had been established which has necessitated the need for life style adjustment in the work place.

Mr. Ebie said such adjustments included observing physical distance, wearing of face mask and a renewed consciousness in terms of improved sanitation and personal hygiene.

He tasked the senior staff to ensure that they sensitize and school their subordinates when they resume on the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to observe all the protocols and guidelines as we are now in a community transmission phase.

In her pep talk, Dr. Grace Orofuke of the Ministry of Health said the Covid-19 virus was a new strain of Corona virus which was a respiratory tract infection which had no cure for now.

Dr Orofuke said ‘for one not to contact the virus one must act like everyone was a suspect and as such all necessary protections and precautions should be applied by observing all the Covid-19 protocols and guidelines’.

She equally said that everyone had a role to play in the fight against the pandemic as the numbers are still on the increase.

In his vote of thanks, the functioning Permanent Secretary in the Office of the SSG, Dr Chucks Nwani thanked the SSG for the initiative in organising the pep talk for the senior staff who will be expected to enforce the new office protocols and ensure that their junior and younger colleagues are properly educated and adhere to the new rules in the work place.
