It can affect any part of your body, from your ankles and feet to your hips, elbows, shoulders, and hands.
The pain may be constant, or it may come and go. Sometimes the joints may feel stiff, painful, or sore. Some people complain of burning, throbbing, or ” tingling” sensations.

What is the cause of joint pain?
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a very common disease that can affect any joint in the body. It is most likely to affect the joints that bear most of our weight, such as knees and feet.

What can you do to prevent/reverse it?
1. Apply a heating pad or ice to the affected area several times a day.
2. Keep your weight within a healthy range. This will reduce the pressure on the joints.
3. Avoid using your joints in ways that cause or aggravate pain. Depending on the joints affected, you may have to avoid sports, driving, or long walks. However, it is very important to stay active so that the muscles around the joints do not weaken.
