Barcelona Offered Philippe Coutinho To Premier League Clubs

Philippe Coutinho is one of the footballers who hardly count for Xavi Hernández and for whom FC Barcelona can save the most money in terms of salary to make room for incorporations and fit them into the parameters required by LaLiga.

That is why the Barça club is offering the Brazilian player, who may have a market in the Premier League, where there are clubs with the economic muscle to face his card or in its entirety.

Philippe Coutinho offered to Newcastle and Spurs

According to the Daily Mail, Barça have offered “Cou” to Tottenham and Newcastle. The 29-year-old international ‘canarinho’ arrived precisely in January 2018 from English football after paying Barça 120 million plus 40 variables to Liverpool.

Loaned in the 2019-20 season to Bayern Munich, where he won the treble with the only Champions League that appears in his record, Coutinho can be a resource for Newcastle, penultimate in the Premier with Eddie Howe as coach two months after having been acquired by the Saudi Arabian public investment fund.

It moves away from the danger zone enough to be able to aspire next season to substantial signings that would be impossible in the case of losing the category.

As for Tottenham, coached by Antonio Conte, they are seventh in the Premier League, seven points behind the Champions Zone that Arsenal closes, although with three games less than the Gunners.

Already out of the Conference League by UEFA decision after his plague of positives by Covid, the “Spurs” were interested in Coutinho in the summer of 2019 when Mauricio Pochettino was the coach, but finally the operation was frustrated and the Brazilian ended up in Munich.

Since Xavi took over Barça a month ago, “Cou” has only played as a starter in the defeat against Betis (0-1) and added 58 minutes in his appearances in the second half against Espanyol (1-0) and Villarreal (1-3), when Bayern (3-0) and Osasuna (2-2) scored a penalty.

Last weekend he warmed up, but not even the uncertainty of the match against Elche, resolved by Nico Gonzálezin in the 85th minute, made Xavi give him an opportunity with a tie on the scoreboard.
