ASU Sack Lecturer Over Sexual Abuse
Dr Michael Ukaegbu, a prominent lecturer at Abia State University in Uturu, has been fired for a sex-for-marks offense.
The ABSU Council-in-Session enacted the dismal of Ukaegbu, who was an erstwhile acting Head, Division of Mass Communication, for involvement in intimate relations, in a communiqué issued after the 148th Regular and Resumed Meeting of the Governing Council of the varsity, which was chaired by the Pro-Chancellor, Adolphus Wabara.
The council also validated the firing of another lecturer, Mr Leonard Chukwuma, for admission fraud and racketeering, according to the communiqué issued by the Registrar, Acho Elendu.
The school management had been tracking the two instructors, according to a senior university employee who spoke to Aniomapress Metro.
A administrative committee was formed, according to the source, to investigate the charges against them, and findings were delivered to the council with suitable recommendations, which were adopted.
