Arsenal Registered Interest In Bundesliga Striker Who Scored 16-Goals This Season

Arsenal is said to be in a bidding war for Patrik Schick of the Czech Republic and Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the winter transfer window.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Everton, and Manchester City have all been monitoring Patrik for months, according to 90min.

In recent weeks, a slew of names, including Dusan Vlahovic, Arthur Cabral, Jonathan David, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, have been bandied about in connection with the Gunners.

Arsenal set to face Premier League rivalry in Patrik Schick’s race

Patrik Schick, a potential 2022 target for a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, is one of the newest names to emerge among the rest.

The Czech international has continued his fine form at club level, where his tally of 16 goals for Bayer Leverkusen puts him second in the Bundesliga top scoring charts. He was a standout name at Euro 2020 in the summer, scoring from his own half against Scotland to earn a nomination for the Puskas awards.

Die Werkself, on the other hand, are not in a hurry to cash in on him and have expressed little interest in hearing bids next month.

The 25-year-old attacker is having a fantastic season, as he is the Bundesliga’s second-highest goalscorer and has scored more goals than Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

He’s scored 16 goals in 14 games, which is only three fewer than Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

This follows a sensational UEFA Euro 2020 campaign in which he tied for joint-top scorer with Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo with five goals.

Patrik has a contract with BayArena until 2025, and his asking price is expected to be in the region of £50 million.

Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette will be free agents next summer unless they agree to new contracts, therefore the north Londoners are likely to be in need of a striker.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a Gabonese international, has also fallen out of favor following yet another disciplinary transgression, which resulted in head coach Mikel Arteta stripping his player of the captain’s armband.
