Abia Warriors’ Coaches Survive Road Mishap

Imama Amapakabo and two other coaches of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Warriors FC were on Friday involved in road accident, from which they emerged unscathed.

According to the club’s Media Officer, Nwosu Chigozie, the accident happened on their way to Okigwe for the team’s training session, preparatory to Boxing Day’s Nigeria Professional Football League match day fixture against Sunshine Stars FC at Enyimba International Stadium in Abs.

“Our Head Coach, Imama Amapakabo, alongside other two coaches were involved in a minor road accident on their way to Okigwe for the team’s training session. No life was lost, the Coaches involved are in stable condition. The head coach, Imama Amapakabo, is also in a stable condition as well. Thank you all for the show of love,” Chigozie stated.

Abia Warriors began their 2021-2022 season campaign on a shaky, losing 2-1 to Enyimba in Abia State derby clash at Enyimba International Stadium in Abia on Sunday, December 19. Ekene Awazie put the People’s Elephant in front on 34 minutes, Paul Samson restored parity in favour of Abia Warriors on 50 minutes, while Chigozi Obasi scored the decisive goal for Enyimba on 77 minutes.

They will be looking to picking their first win of the campaign on Sunday when they host cash-strapped Sunshine at the same venue.
